Following a competitive selection process, AI Process Systems were successful in their bid to design, install and commission a new Epoxy and Polyurethane mixing facility for the Birkenhead based resin manufacturer AEV Ltd.
This AiPS project has streamlined the AEV manufacturing facility and increased production flexibility, resulting in an extremely fast response to enable them to meet customer’s requirements. The effectiveness of the service and technical input provided by Ai Process Systems, is driven by their wide range of experience and proactiveness, strengthening AEV’s competitive advantage within their market.
By the use of powder vacuum transfer and the dedication of the bulk dispersion vessels to individual product ranges, the possibility of product contamination is virtually eliminated and different products can now be run consecutively, allowing a ‘just in time’ system to operate successfully.

The design challenge
To significantly increase the production of epoxy and polyurethane based products:
- In a space restricted area.
- Within a strictly defined capital budget.
- To meet the customer’s sensitive time frame.
- To meet stringent operator health & safety requirements and environmental issues
Responsible for the installation of:
- A bulk 30,000 litre storage system.
- Bulk dispersion facility.
- Powder vacuum transfer system.
- All associated supporting infrastructure conforming to current standards and legislation
Putting design into practice
- AEV required a speedy execution of the project in order to meet increasing customer and market demands.
- On a fixed priced project AiPS was able to deliver the project, overcoming space restrictions and minimising disruption to AEV’s existing production facility.
