Ai Process completes major expansion project for innovative materials manufacturer
Design & installation
Ai Process Systems, the UK based process system design and project management specialist, has recently completed a major project for the design and installation of a manufacturing facility at E. Wood Limited, North Yorkshire.
The new purpose-built plant will enable the company to increase production capacity for the innovative Hycote 169 ‘In-situ’ pipelining material.
This new specialist manufacturing facility consists of three 1,800 litre working capacity, vacuum rated, change head dispersers with in-tank cleaning and one 2,500 litre xed head disperser supported in a newly constructed mezzanine structure.
Specialist facility
Manufacturing equipment is facilitated by automatic batching of resins from up to 4 o 30,000 litre resin storage tanks with the project also including an innovative system whereby an operator can charge big bags (FIBC’s) via sack tipping hoppers, mounted on an independent mezzanine oor and discharge into the respective dispersers. Final product mix is then discharged and lled into pails via dedicated lling machines and in-line ltration.

To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is satis ed, the facility for the handling of powder ingredients into big bags also incorporates comprehensive dust extraction as well as big bag lifting equipment, a sack rip and tip station and pallet height assist equipment. Furthermore, handrailing, pallet gate and kicking strips are included in accordance with EEMUA guidelines.

Minimal disruption
